Hey guys I always thought my cage was to cold..but i soon found out that was beacuase my thermeter wasn't over the uth..now that I put it over it I realzied it is about 100 degrees..what should I do?? Is this ok? are there ways to make my tank cooler? The UTH is real small too...

Also I have a night-time bulb that give off some heat..i defineltly do not want to put it on the uth side now..it will get way to hot so should i put it towards the cool side more..the cool side is about 75 degrees stady?

People are going to say different stuff to this...Personally I think a lamp dimmer (you can buy these at walmart for about 9 bucks) works well to help control the temps of your UTH.....and yes 100 or over is TOO hot....hottest it should be is about 90 degrees..... also be careful putting lights (or anything else) on what is supposed to be your "cool" side...the leo (s) have to have somewhere they can get away from the heat.....you would be surprised how much a bulb can heat up the floor of a tank.

What is temp in your house? I know that the other day(since it's been hot outside)that all of my tank temps have gone up and so did the temp in my incubator. We had to unplug our for a period of time to cool it down a bit and then when the temps in the house went down some we plugged them back in. I don't know if this helps you any, but that is what we did.

A UTH will need some way to control the temp like a thermostat a reostat or like noted a dimmer switch, I get dimmer switches at home depot that you just plug your UTH into without having to do any wiring. A UTH unregulated can achieve temps of 115 degrees.
