I am getting paranoid big time. On Monday I am going to take in fecal samples to the vet. All of my leos are about one month old. I'm not sure if I am having these problems because they are babies, because I have been changing their food, or because they are sick... possibly imacted.
Baby #1 (they don't have names yet) everything seemed fine up until last night when she pooped and there was a bit of brown liquid in it, but the rest was solid. She ate 15 mealworms 2 nights ago.
Baby #2 has very potent smelling poop, but they seem fairly soild. She did give out some urate (not sure of the proper term) last night, just a tiny bit of white stuff with no poop. She ate only 7 of 15 mealworms 2 nights ago.
Baby #3 has been fine until yesterday when she only pooped out a large amount of white stuff and a VERY small ammount of poop. She has not pooped yet today, I hoping it is back to normal. She ate 10 of 15 mealworms 2 nights ago.
My temps are good, 90-95 hot side, about 80-85 cool side (should this be cooler?), temp drops about 5 at night. I just started feeding them mealworms, I was feeding crickets, I plan on going back and forth to give them variety. I was feeding them butterworms for a while but they were having problems digesting them. I still have 100 butterworms that I paid $20 for so I'll probably slip one in here and there. I also ordered 50 waxworms, which I plan on giving to them very sparingly and only as treats. I have been giving them as much food as they can eat every night (except last night because they all still had a few mealworms in their dishes). I was lazy last night, I usually always take out their uneaten food. I also dust with the t-rex cricket dust and straight calcium carbonate, alternating everynight. They also all have a dish of pure calcium.
My main question is should I be worried or do babies have more trouble with their stools. My puppies often have problems esspecially when I change their food, are leopard geckos kinda the same?
Thanks for any reply,
Lisa
