Chipola River loggerheads

mayday May 14, 2004 10:11 PM

Did some canoeing on the Chipola River yesterday. Caught a handful of these little guys in just a few minutes. I saw many more but only looked at them. These were released after I took their picture.
Also saw Barbour's map turtles, mobile cooters and yellow belly turtles.

I think these are from last year but they were really dinky.

Nice pics, do you have any pics of some of the Barbour's Maps that you saw?

I'll send them.

I would be careful as to what you post. There is regulation on Loggerhead Musk Turtles, Barbour's Map Turtles, etc. in Florida. You are only allowed to have 2 in your possession at any time and, of course, you cannot sell them. The first picture shows you holding three.
