Sand Lizard Care

devilishlilpyro May 14, 2004 11:35 PM

Hi, I have a sand lizard that's about 2 years old(give or take a few months). I have his cage set up how it's supposed to be and everything, and I usually feel him crickets. I recently got an iguanna and was wondering if I could feed my sand lizard some fruit and veggies like I do my iguanna. I can't find any care sheets for sand lizards and what I can find doesnt say much about what they eat. I read that I can feed sand lizards fruits but I dont know what kind to feed it. If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

well it depends.which sand lizard are you rrefering to,their is the green or brown(color varies between males and females)sand lizards wich are a type of lacertid.or the small sand lizard or sand fish wich is a skink and has a flattened snout.id say if you have the lacertid sand lizard then it wont take any fruit or veggies since almost all of them are isectovorious.for the sand fish it will eat fruit baby food but feed this spareingly.hope this helps
