1995 stripe hatchling

DanTheFireman May 15, 2004 08:06 AM

Was just looking at some pics from 1995 (not even digital) and found this one which hatched in '95. I bought the dad and mom who were broken stripes the year before from a man named Ron Hatcher. The tang 3 yr. old next to the photo laid 16 eggs for me this year and is getting her color and weight back now. I got her grandpa in '93 - he was a light orange with orangeish brown headspots instead of black which I'd never seen before. Most everything back then was yellow or beige. In '89 I'd given a friend named Mark Baldel a high yellow hatchling and he and his girlfriend later started The Golden Gecko, eventually producing 10,000 geckos a year. I guess you never know what your little babies may go on to produce. Geez, I'm getting old!! Well, gotta go change my Depends and suck down some Ensure.

Beautiful geckos Dan, and great photos too. What ever happened to the Golden Gecko anyway??

Oh BTW, us old folks need to stick together

The Golden Gecko went out when Denice and Mark split up. Too bad, they were on a roll. BTW, over 20 doesn't make you an old folk. Also, how do the "psychadelic gecko's" sibs look?

That's too bad about Golden Gecko.

The psych's sibs look great, I will post some pics soon.

""BTW, over 20 doesn't make you an old folk""

LOL, well, what about over 30?

Here's a pic of a 13 day old redstripe and a 3 day old on right. Notice no black on body.Still nothing to get excited about after seeing Kelli's. The background pic is how I spent my 52nd B-day last Sept, surfing Costa Rica. Rode waves today for 4 hours in between cleaning and feeding. My daughter is 33! Don't worry, you'll hit your second wind about 40.

Oh shush Dan, your geckos are awesome, I want a red stripe male from you so bad.

Second wind, eh? Hmm sounds interesting...
