Hello,

Mellers CHameleons are an awesome species but they have many more requirements than other species. They are a very easily stressed species and require Large cage spaces. Personally I have great sucess with the Mellers but they normally have one of it not the highest mortality rate of any imported Chameleon. PLease read the November `02 issue of Chameleonnews.com and you will learn more about the Mellers CHameleon. Please feel free to e-mail me offlist if you have any questions.

Melleri are tempermental, beautiful, demanding, stressy, dignified, and will change your life. They vary so much individually it makes them a real challenge, but most keepers find them more work than they want. They need such large space more keepers are free ranging them. There is a good forum devoted to them on yahoo.groups. I've kept 4 over the years and enjoyed them, but did turn over part of my house to them specifically. Almost all are wc and in pretty poor shape. Most don't survive past 3-4 months due to kidney failure and gout resulting from shipping stress. Never buy a large adult...they are more likely to have circulatory system parasites which are very tricky to treat. Want to know more? Drop me a line.
