a question about tree lizards

epleyfam May 15, 2004 01:27 PM

My boys have rescued a male tree lizard from our cat, so now he is happily set up in his new home. The poor little guy lost its tail trying to escape from being lunch...I am not sure if the cat ate the tail, or what happened to it.

My question is: If our cat did eat the tail, are tree lizards poisonous to cats? Tree lizards are very common in our part of AZ, so i am sure we will be rescuing a lot of them this summer... I just need to make sure our kitties are safe too.

Thanks!

your cat will be fine.the tail loss is only to deter predators so the lizard can get away.
