advice needed please!

My female collared is fat has orange spots and is digging like crazy. What is the best setup for her to lay her eggs?
Is heat important? i only keep the heat on a few hours daily, im in southern california. thanks.

This is what i'd do.
-get two bricks and a flat rock/tile.
-put the bricks on the bottom tank glass in the corner of the cage about 8inches apart(make them so the lizards can't get beneath them).
-dampen the sand
-then put the tile/rock atop (make sure it cant crush her).
When she realizes that she can bury her eggs here, She will.

Also, look on the rest of the forum and there are plenty of people with the same problem.
