Stopping escapes....

birddog5151 May 15, 2004 02:22 PM

Every once in a while you get a snake that no matter how well you secure your tank still gets out. The 4 1/2 foodCape Gopher Snake I have had for about 5 weeks can manipulate the sliding top of my 40 gallon breeder tank over the locking pins.

Solution: I took some of the blue tape that is used to tape around things before painting. They use it a lot on HGTV. Any way it is easy to put on, peel back to open, and stick back down. He hasn't escaped since I began using a short piece of tape to hold the top in place. I still use the locking pins.
