swollen scales on belly of my ball. help?????????

vidiot85 May 15, 2004 09:32 PM

i picked up my ball a few minutes ago and there was a wet spot on his belly. when i looked at the wet spot, i saw a 2 long strip of scales on his belly that look, well, swollen.
what is wrong with my buddy? i just fed him 2 days ago(1 pre-killed mouse) and he has water and a heat pad.

It could be due to the cage not being clean enough or from too much heat from the heat pad. what bedding are you using?

i've got reptile carpet in his tank. when i had cell-sorb in there, he would consume some while eating. and yes, i know it won't hurt him, but i just didn't like it.

i clean the carpet with soap and water after he poops.

I'm far from an expert having only been through a couple sheds so far but doesn't this look like the snakes about to shed?

If that's the case, wait and see what they look like after the shed. If not, well... I'm sure someone will enjoy berating me.
