i have two 2 year old females who have layed 3 clutches (2 eggs each) a peice, all infertile! they layed fine last year and i don't know if it's my male or what? i am using a different male this year and i am starting to think he just has a low sperm count or something. i need some help from some one who has had this problem or knows what to do. do i need another male? or is it the females? thanx in advance!

That is very unusual that 2 females in a trio will be infertile. Try using another male...that will probably fix the problem. If the male is young, wait a bit since it could be the age that's the problem. If it is a very old leo, age might be the problem also. Hope this helps!!!

I would say that since they did well last year that it is more than likely the male

I have been having the same problem this year. I assumed it was because I rotated the male too frequently and only let him breed each girl once, so there wasn't enough sperm to last a whole season. I am re-breeding him with the girls now, and it seems to be working for the most part, though I am still getting infertile eggs from some, maybe the breeding was too late as eggs had already started to develop.

My male was potent last year, don't know what would cause low sperm count. If anyone knows of supplements for leos to support sperm production let me know (certain amino acids?)
