Well seeing as I post on the forum and got such a positive response I think I will try this again. I just need opinions on which panther chameleon you prefer ambilobe or ambanja to help influence my dicision on which locale I will purchase.

Hi there,
This is a tough question to answer. It all boils down to what locale you like. The only advice I can give you is to consider your budget and the availability of ambilobes.
Ambilobes are going to cost a bit more than ambanjas. If you can save a hundred dollars or so, you could use that money towards getting some supplies.
If you are planning on breeding them, finding a female may require a little work. Finding a nice proven male alone will require some effort as well. On the other hand, if you went with the ambanjas, you could readily find a proven un-related pair from various breeders.
Other than that, I don't think anyone can tell you that an ambanja is better than an ambilobe or vice versa. Its all personal preference. Take into consideration how much you can afford, and what your future plans with them are.
Take Care.

Just like screamelions said, its personal preferance and how much you can afford. Ambilobe's are going to run you a few hundered dollars more than an ambanja and are not as easy to find.
I personaly would not be able to decide between a nice purple bar ambanja and a blue bar ambilobe, they are both breath taking.

And that is my problem deciding between a nice blue bar ambanja and the ambilobes. Price is not a factor and I have found unrelated blue bar ambilobes both male and female. And yes it would be a breeding project. I have a feeling I am going to go with the ambilobes a more uncommon local and the color combos on the ambilobes are just strikingly beautiful though I am still drawn to ambanjas.
My first instinct was to tell you ambilobe, only because they are more highly prized. But after further consideration, and reading everyone elses responses, I'd have to agree with them. It is a matter of personal preference. My favorite was the blue bar ambilobe, and to some extent still is, but when I saw Orion (my red bar ambanja) I just had to have him. I've never seen another one like him. He's red, purple and blue bar. The color morphs are so different even from individual to individual, that it's just going to come down to finding A chameleon that takes the cake for you, not necessarily it's particular locale. Here's a pic of my Orion, who is labelled as a red bar ambanja. Good luck and have fun!
