Did the egg that specimen hatch out of have fungus? Any fluctuation in temperature? Both of those factors could influence pattern. IF you can prove that trait genetic, you could have something special.

The egg was normal as was the temperature. There were 9 eggs total. As of now only 5 have hatched, the others have their noses sticking out. Only one of the 5 hatched look like this. Maybe there will be some more in the clutch that have these markings. It's a male too, which makes my life easier for proving him out. He does look similar to the one on Richard Evans website, but much cleaner with more defined spots down his back. I'll try to get some more pictures up this evening.

The father is a 100% Het Pink Pastel Albino from Richard Evans, so that could explain the gene, maybe. The mother is a normal female that I had left over this season. So not only is he cool looking but also possible het Pink Pastel Albino. IF I can prove this gene out the possibilities are endless...........

Oh yeah for the guy who asked about selling him, there is a price on everything.

so updates on the other hatchlings. any other abnormal babies?

pj_farmer May 18, 2004 04:33 PM

The rest of the clutch has hatch out normal. The female did just lay 2 more eggs and I think she has one or two more left in her. She has been one of those females that drops them when she pleases. Hopefully one of them will be another "Spot" but I doubt it.

I guess the only thing now to do is try to sell him off or work to start trying to prove him out.

Almost, others have said they look the same as well, however if you comapare pictures "Spot" has a single row of spots down his back with little or no markings on his sides. The blonde on Richard Evans site does have a almost like stripes down his sides and 2 rows of spots down his back.

Just FYI for everyone else this Snake was produced by Brent Bumgardner at F&B Reptiles. I posted him here and Brent wanted to post him on the For Sale Forum as well. Brent is my partner, but I guess some people got a little worried that someone else was trying to sell this snake. Thanks for the heads up emails, we both do appreciate it.
