Emma, rescue #3 in 4 weeks...

jiffypop Jun 17, 2003 06:57 AM

Emma came to us last Wednesday from a woman making plans to escape an abusive husband. She's 5 years old, was kept in a glass enclosure built into a wall, and she was fed a diet of Romaine, yams and CHEESE! She has some very deep burn scars on her back and some lesser burn scars on the underside of her tail. The last 4 inches of her tail were disgusting....2+ inches were completely necrotic and another inch or so was infected. She had surgery yesterday to amputate about 6 inches of her tail.

Emma was considered mean so she wasn't handled much. In reality she's a calm, cuddly lizard. Wish her luck in her recovery.

Emma, day one

Emma's tail, pre-op

Tail, post-op

Emma, 3 hours post-op, still sleeping

Poor Emma. I'm sure she'll be MUCH better off with you, and whoever adopts her finally! Just curious... with those jowls and fatty deposits on top, are you sure that Emma isn't an Emmett?
