I have a Nikon coolpix 4300. Nice camera, good macro mode. I can get up close and personal with my subjects and so on. I am very happy with it.
However I lost my first one in Daytona last year and so I guard my new one with my life. I'm afraid to take it everywhere, and sometimes you just need a digicam everywhere! Especialy me- I am an artist and always looking for the chance to photograph some reptiles (or anything ) to paint.
I was wondering what you all thought about this. Do you think I should fall back on the CoolPix 4300 as my "go everywhere, be beaten up, etc camera and get something more expensive (I am especially interested in optical zoom over 3x.) Or should I buy a small, less expensive one to carry everywhere, so that it won't hurt as much if it gets beaten up? I am looking at the Canon Powershot A60-70 for this purpose. Any other reccomendations of small, inexpensive quality digis?
