Cage Question

Meghan20 May 17, 2004 04:34 AM

When beardies get bigger they of course need bigger cages...but glass cages are really hard to deal with when they're more than 30 gallons; they're too heavy to move (I'm weak) and they're really expensive. I'd like peoples opinions about reptariums or screen cages. Are these cages safe to use with lights that get really hot? Reptariums are made out of a material that seems like it could melt...but I don't really know much about it...please help!

Reptariums will not melt, but you have to watch out for drafts and such. Sometimes it is hard to keep the correct temperatures in them if your room temp varies a bit.

I like them as outside sunning cages.

Building your own cage is a good option, mine is oak and plexiglass and it is 2x2x4 feet. I could carry it by myself when it was empty. It is much heavier now that it has 50 pounds of sand in it lol.
