Ugh... the new sans serif font is very difficult to read. Any chance the old font will be used for these new forums?

Any chance of there being a forums.kingsnake.com/corn URL which would redirect to this forum? That would be a big help. http://forums.kingsnake.com/forum.php?catid=70 is less preferrable to memorize and type out.

Also, the centered look is a bit annoying. Any chance of the format returning to left-justified message threads?

My thoughts exactly. This new font type makes me want to look for a new place to read/post on forums....lol

The font is difficult to read.

Also, I suggested this before in the dog forums. Can you change it so that the forum is not restricted to a specific width? At my resolution and font size, the forums take up only the middle third of the screen and only 10 words fit in a single line. For example, Kat's post title,

Font choice... can we have the serif font back? (and other comments) - Kat, May 13, 2003

had up to the word 'other' on one line before it goes to the next. It looks very cramped, especially on the forum index pages, where 2-line topics are difficult to read.

"Morph Question > Caramel? or Amber??? - amy, May 13, 2003" is the longest topic title that can fit everything on one line. Anything longer and the date, name, topic starts rolling onto a second line.

This font is just too distracting to be able to read it smoothly. I keep having to re-read what I just read just to make sure I read it correctly. Now say that 5 times real fast. =P

I also like the posts justified to the left as well, it gives more room for longer post titles, and more room for follow-ups to thread their way over, without me having to scroll my screen over.

All in all..I saw absolutely nothing wrong with the old forum style. It's something that's user friendly and something that 99.99% of people liked. I know you're gonna say, "changes are hard to adapt to". Well maybe, but we're the primary users of these forums, we pay for them (with the exorbitant classified fees), and we're the one's who voice *should* matter.

If you want to make this new forum layout advanced, make it so that people can have their own personal page preferences on how they want to view things. So that they can change the font, layout, colour, etc from the default.

Also, I like someone else's comment about renaming this to http://forums.kingsnake.com/corn. It's a lot easier to bookmark and memorize.

Anyway, I just think a lot of changes are still in need. Next time you have beta testing, invite the people who actually use the forums to test.
