Time to hatch?

Passport May 17, 2004 07:07 AM

My female Brooksi layed her clutch of 12 on April 19th. They were well into developing the day they were layed. When I candled them they were already showing veins and glowing red. Does this shorten the actual time in the incubator? Or do I still have 39 days to go?

I'd expect you have more waiting to do.

But I"m looking forward to pics of the hatching!

Hi Sasheena,
I'm not trying to rush things. But since she delayed her depositing her clutch and the eggs were so far into incubation inside of her I thought maybe it would shorten the time in the incubator. If she layed on the 19th they should hatch on the....?? 60 days? Longer?

Thanks.

8-10 weeks is about a good range. I doubt the snakes developed anymore than usuall inside the female if they did it would be a matter of a day or two and be insignificant.
