how to keep mealworms in the dish?

sila May 17, 2004 10:42 AM

I keep finding most of the mealies under the papertowels in the morning so I dont think my babies are getting enough to eat..They are very skittish right now as Ive only had them a week and will maybe eat one or two if I toss them close while they are hiding. But overnight all the mealies just crawl out of the dish and hide in the tank were the babies cant get to them..Also If I give them crickets they all just hop away and are still there the next day. Then I have to get in there and scare the little guys while I chase down the crickets they dont eat..I tried putting them in a seperate container to feed but they are too scared to eat and it doesnt work..Now What? Do they sell Leo food thats not alive kind of like the pellets for Beardies? Is there a special dish that the mealies cant climb out of but is still small enough for little 4 inch geckoes?
Thanks ahead-Sila

Try using a Peanut Butter Jar lid...Just make sure you wash it out. Thats what I use and no mealies have escaped yet. Especially if you have a baby and only feeding it the little mealies.

Hope that Helps!!
