I was just curious about your spirulina usage and was hoping you could tell me more. How do you make it stick? have you ever used it for gutloading purpose? I also saw your making an investment in an RO filter congradulations thats a very wise decision your chams will love you for.

Just use it like calcium cricket dust. You can also mix it with calcium dust to make a lighter green. I have mixed it in with gutload before as I have done with bee pollen but I now just buy it mixed already at AB herps. Their gutload was recommended to me by my vet (who also breeds chameleons). He says he uses it exclusively to gutload his chameleons. It is mixed in the right proportions and he says he has never experienced problems with edema by using it. You can see pics of his chams at Mythical Chameleons website
I am considering the RO unit but am still undecided. I had been using bottled water from an RO machine and was having trouble with my amphibians who developed sores on their bodies. Probably caused by bacteria in the water. I lost several Red Eyed Tree Frogs and then I switched to Repti-safe and using tap water for my frogs and the problem disappeared. I still use machine and bottled water in the dripping systems for my chams but wonder about problems with bacteria in the water.
I use water from my hose and a mister when I take them out for sun. I am in FL and it gets close to 100 degrees outside sometimes especially in my concrete yard (hate it). It keeps them cooled off and they like it when it's dripping through the little tree I put them in. They don't really drink much out there but it keeps their skin looking good and they don't have shedding problems.
I do worry about bacteria forming in the RO holding tank. Do you do anything special to keep it clean. How often do you have to disinfect it?

One of my freinds here in Ny owns a reef shop(reef people are extremly picky about there water quality)so he just gives it to me. I could ask if you'd like. So the spirulina your using you get from a vitamin store I thought they only used that stuff for fish food. I'll give it a try it cant hurt.
