Mama Southern Scrub Pic

Yasser May 13, 2003 07:01 PM

This is Oblivion, our most contrasting Southern Scrub Python. She's the one who just laid eggs a month or so ago. She looks small in the pic but she's a solid 13 feet now.
Just figured I'd test out the new system again...got kinda rusty after figuring it out the first time long ago.
Hope ya like the pic.

I think it would make much more sense if the forums were grouped according to taxonomy; i.e. having a Morelia forum rather than a carpet and diamond python forum. Especially nowadays when taxanomic accuracy is such an important factor to herpers. Of course, popular species such as GTP's or retics would still have their own forum. I just think then it would be a little easier to decide where certain posts belong should the forums be grouped by family or genius. I just think it would make sense.

When everything is split up. There used to just be a boid forum. I know that now that would be waaaaay to crowded, but it's kind of nice to have everyone at one place.

messages were "left justified" or against the left side of the screen. It makes it so much easier on the eyes to distinguish what is new or part of a different topic.
Just food for thought,

It also doesn't save a cookie for the login and password. and is centered for 800x600...which hardly anyone uses anymore.

I think people that are interested in carpets are also fairly interested in scrubs, and vice versa. Both are just amazing snakes. Also, if you just look at general morphology, they're fairly similar. I think scrubs and carpets are more closely related to each other than rosy boas and sand boas.

Scrubs have large head scales, carpets have granular. Scrubs have a longer and more slender build than carpets. Scrubs are more terrestrial than carpets. They are more alert and aware of their surroundings than carpets. They have sharper senses. The only relation I see are the regions they come from. The difference with your comparison to Lichanura and Eryx is that they look similar and have a similar build. Scrubs and carpets just don't have any similarity. Unless you can name one for me.

Josh, You should know better. I can tell you are getting rusty not being around like you used to.
Here's one to ponder for ya.

Baby IJ carpets are born with red color and all carpets undergo a somewhat drastic to extremely drastic color change into adulthood. Does that remeind you of anything? Southerns? Barnecks? Tanimbars? Moluccans? Boelens?

Don't get me wrong, I do beleive that Scrubs are unique enough to warrant their own genus but they do share similar the aformentioned characteristic.

Like I said....GOTCHA!!!!
