Uro Diet

Pacmanfreak May 17, 2004 02:25 PM

My male Mali Uro has started eating pebbels and dirt in his enclosure. Is this normal behaviour for this lizard?

It's normal for them to "taste" with their tongue, at which time some might stick to it. More than that, and I'd be wondering. Is plenty of food being offered? ALso, I have a dry mix consisting of birdseed (less the sunflower seeds!), split peas, split lentils, bee pollen, split yellow peas, and normally, juvy dry iguana food (the yellow and green granules). It's in the tank all the time, and usually, they're eating it off the top of the sand. I keep it in a dish, but hey, don't we all walk through our food and track it everywhere? Point is, maybe if he really want to continue tasting everything, give him something good to taste.

Just a thought

Jim
