What to add into tank to help shed?

Zhenchok May 17, 2004 02:34 PM

Hi, I am keeping a baby ball python in a 6-qrt sterilite. I have a dish for water and a hide. There is not much room. What do you put into the box to help aid the shed?

Also when I feed do I take the water dish out to give it more space to strike?

Thanks, Dave.

If your ball is hydrated well enough come time for shedding he could shed off on your water dish. You don't need anything real rough or jagged, just make sure to spray him down a couple times a day that week of his shed! As far as taking the water dish out when you feed, it doesn't really matter!!

i would get at least a slighty larger cage for it. Have 2 hides, one of those hides being a humid hide for shed but when not in shed be a dry hide.
