Egglaying substrate ????

repzoo44 May 17, 2004 03:03 PM

My female is in shed mode right now but has not entered the deposition box yet. She just lays right next to it. I tried to introduce her to it but she did not want to go in. I think it may smell a bit strange to her. When it comes time for her to shed and or lay her eggs will nature take charge or should I try something different? I currently have a tub about 1/2 to 2/3 full of moist shagnum moss. Thanks for your input.

My girls have not really gone into the box except for a day or two before actually laying, then, only to sort of check it out. So I don't think I would panic.
