lilroach56 May 17, 2004 03:11 PM

I was wondering about what people use as cages for bloods of different sizes. could you tell me what size cage you would use for bloods of these sizes?

15" long-
25" long-
30" long-
3 feet long-

what size would you move them to an adult cage (4' by 2')?

and would this be a good cage for a 20" blood?

cage is sterlite about 15" by 20"
water dish on cool side
two dry hides one on warm one on cool side
1 humid hide in middle
newspaper substrate
heat pad

I will typically always start in my rack system(home made) which is about 30x12 inches once everything gets to about 24" I move to a 75gal sized and then my big guys are in costom 6x2x18" (4' and up) The big thing is to make sure they can strech out straight to help fight repitory infections. as far as to big many peaple will tell you keep it small for feeling of security. But I have good luck with the above mentioned size how ever I do have several small tite hides with in the enclosure this may be why I have not had problem feeders (due to enclosure size). As far as your hides go they sound pretty good just remember the more you put in there the more you have to keep clean. what I use on my babyies is a cool side hide box with damp spagnum moss and another hide on the hot side. But ambient in my room is around 80 so that makes it easy for me. hope this helps good luck
