My jackson has a broken horn...

chico_dan85 May 17, 2004 03:32 PM

Hey my jackson recently broke his middle horn. It was bent when i got him.. but not broken. About a week ago I saw that it was broken and half way hanging off..I'm pretty sure it was from a fall in his cage so i'm going to put a cushion on the bottom so it doesn't happen again. I was just wondering if anyone knows if there's a way to fix it without going to the vet. If anyone could help me on this it would be greatly appreciated.

Superglue will hold his horn in place until it is healed, but you have to be extremely careful working around his face. Don't wrap it with anything just use a tiny amount to put the horn back together. Good luck, Mark

will that really work, if it does, thats pretty crazy. How does it heal if it was totally broken off???

I don't know, but super glue is great. My guitarist cut his fingers really bad on his strings, but he put super glue on the tips of his fingers and he'd go play the rest of the show. lol. Crazy bastard. His cuts seemed to heal really fast. His dad was a doctor in Indonesia and said it was cool. Don't know where he got that from, but I guess he was right.

That's where doctors got the idea of "liquid stitches" and now Band-Aide has their own liquid bandage. Thanks to Super Glue. lol

I dunno, though, maybe the fumes would bother your cham. The smell of super can make your eyes burn. Maybe a vet could re-attach it?

Superglue is not sterile and it's a very poisonous chemical.

Be very careful. The portion (of horn) closest to the Jacksons body is alive. If the part of the horn that has been broken is too low, you risk infection and poisoning.
