I have a 2 year old female and a 7 month old male who has just reached sexual maturity. He will bob at the female, but she bobs back and they circle on the floor. She has always been aggressive toward him, do you think she'll eventually mellow out?

I've found at this age you are probably dealing with a male dragon that may have gotten his driver's license but he hasn't really driven the car yet. The female is probably still bigger than him and will only submit once he shows more aggressive behavior than bobbing. It is unlikely that with a male yhat young he has had a proper brumation period. I have noticed that males will show breeding behavior frequently before they have been cooled but rarely seem to get the job done until after a brumation. There is something about when they come out of their slow down period that flips their switch and gets them over the breeding "hump" if you will. Other opinions welcome.

She should, but I would separate them until he is closer in size and weight to better defend himself.

I agree with the above posts.
I just wanted to add that some females will resist to no end if they are not going to produce eggs yet. I have a female who will only allow the male to mate for a few short days before resisting again. If she is not going to lay eggs, she will not let him mate. That could be a contribution to a problem too.
I would like to get your opinion on my female. She is 2 1/2 maybe three years old and has been bred once before (sucessfully). I lost that male to liver problems. I have introduced her to another male, a little larger than she is, and she wont have anything to do with him at all! She goes at him like a male would. She even got a hold of his lip and tore it a little.
My question to you is, when did you figure out when she would submit? Should I not bother to try any more with her?
I would appreciate any suggestions you may have.
Thanks,
Shannon
Well, that is hard to say. The male needs to be aggressive if she is going to be so angry about it all. Also, I would try to put her through cool down to see if she will produce this year. After the cool down, put her in with the male daily. My female was aggressive toward the male for a week after coming out of cool down, then she submited and was receptive until the male sucessfully mated with her. Try that see what happens.
