can anyone give me advice on dealing with a prolapsed hemipene? the snake has been to the vet and they gave me steriod cream. it just iritates it. any help is greatly appreciated.

...to deal with. Using a saturated solution of sugar can help with the swelling. Once this is done it can be probed back into the hemipenal sulcus (cavity in which it lies in the normal state). The muscle known as the "retractor penis" is believed to be damaged or otherwise malfunctioning in many of these cases. The procedure needs to be done before damage and infection set in. Once infected amputation may be necessary. Good luck!
