Two corn(y) questions...

First of all, can anyone help me explain this behavior? My snake (her name is Stick) escaped last year right before my husband and I went on vacation. She was about a year old, and we had just got her a few months before. We found her in the tub a week later, and she was fine, but now she wants out. She checks her cage every night, crawling up the sides and pushing on the screen. It's down tight so we don't worry about her escaping, but is the behavior okay? Does she need a bigger tank?

Second, I am moving across the country. How should I go about transporting Stick? I am traveling by car, and it will take at least 3 days. Help....

If you have at least a 20 gallon tank, it should be large enough. It is normal for a snake to explore it's enclosure. As for the move, try to keep it warm and make the move as stress free as possible. A rubbermaid container with air holes would probably work. I wouldn't feed her for at least a week before the move. Offer her water in the evening when you stop. Hope this helps you. Todd

Sounds a little early for your young lady, but adults are looking for mates at this time of year. If this is the case, she should settle down again in a few weeks.
