has anyone had waxworms cause the runs?

lisa_cristin May 17, 2004 09:12 PM

I gave all my baby leos one waxworm as a treat. One of them had the runs all over her tank, poor little gal. I fed them just crickets and mealies the next night and her poop is back to normal. Here I go talking about poop again.

. . . . hehe - I've never heard of that. I think I might say with crix and mealies for awhile.

You might want to keep on eye on her, though. That is a little weird.

Lol. Yes I have been keeping a little more than an eye on them. I've only had them for a few weeks so I am slightly paranoid.

waxworms can cause leos to occasionaly get the "runs" because of the high fat content, they either get the runs..or discolored poop, my albino male woul always get discolored poop, so he doesnt get waxworms anymore, just mealworms and pinkes
nothing to worry about

Good to hear, thanks. It's too bad, she REALLY enjoyed it.
