Ok I had 3 jeuvenile Blue webbed gliding tree frogs. I got them from a very good breeder and I have been in extensive contact with her to make sure I am doing everything correctly and according to her I am. However last week one died and now one of the other ones is exhibiting similar problems. THe one that died last week is in for a necropsy but the results are not in yet and I obviously I am concerned about this one and the other one (who seems fine).
So these two were always skinnier then the 3rd, I was told that males tend to be skinny. The one that died I have seen eat I have never seen the sick one eat ever. What happens is that I find them on the bottom of the tank. Which is very unusual and then it seems like they can not stick to the glass. They jump but are not clinging to anything. Then they fall on to the ground. Last week I noticed this onthe one and he died the next day. I am hoping to ty to help htis guy if I can and if not at least the last one.
My setup should be fine according to the breeder but in case you wanted to know, they are in a tank that is 3 1/2 ft long x 1 1/2 wide by 2 feet high. It is a very large cage. They have a uvb bulb and a heat bulb (40 watts) temps in the cage range from about 82ish (give or take the room temp) down to mid 70's. The are two fake plants(that are huge) with a soil/peat moss mixture as a substrate. (I use this combination on all my enclsoures and I was ensure that there is NOTHING In the soil. They have a water dish and are misted daily. I feed them 2-3 crickets each every other day and dust about every other feeding. Oh and htere is plenty of ventilation and the tank is very clean, I clean the water ever other day and I just cleaned there tank recently.
Please help, if anybody has experienced this before please give me some advice. I am going to try to use this sulfa4tmp medication that is what the breeder recommended. But antying at this point.
