Just curious?

hello all...i just have a few touch up questions about anoles...first off, ive inhereted my b/fs' sisters anole "Rex" since shes run off to florida and left him behind here (in oregon). i advised her it wouldnt be wise to try to transport him all the way down there herself, so she just left him in my care. better for him anyway since hes one of those impulse buys. shes done an "ok" job (and i use that term loosley)at keeping him alive. his enclosure is one of those tiny glass cages, maybe 1/2 gallon? im not sure...all i know is its too small for his 4 inch body. im planning on upgrading him to a 20 gallon tall and getting him proper lighting as all he has now is a regular 60 watt bulb. shes been dusting the crickets with calcium powder and misting his cage (im not sure how often he was fed or watered...all i know is that she bought crickets and had a spray bottle). shes not the most intellegent person when it comes to animals. i personally have never owned an anole before, altho i have done research on them in the past so know a little about how to care for them. so i guess i should get to my questions huh? heh.

first, how often can they be fed mealworms to spice up the diet a little?

second, he has these little white "plugs" in his nose that i noticed this morning, could they be from a shed? his overall color/weight look pretty ok, but the plugs are something i was just curious about...i have a snake so plugs in the nose are new to me (aside from what ive read about iguanas and beardies).

well i guess thats really all i have, so a reply will be much appreciated =)
wish me luck! hopefully i can care for this guy a little better than what hes had.

She was doing the right thing dusting the crickets/mealworms whatever in calcium powder. So keep doing that.

Mist the cage twice a day.

You can feed your anole every other day mealworms and small crickets. Try a variety of those to see what he likes.

The nose plugs are because there is not enough humidity in the terrarium. Once the humidity goes up, then the nose plugs should dissapear.
