just wondering
Oh yeah, he's been up and exploring. His attraction to the ladies seems to have waned a bit. Right now I have him penned with a female that is a tad bigger than him and two subadult females. I haven't seen him trying to mate yet this year. He's had a few supervised visits with PrettyBoy, and they haven't battled at all. They seem to size each other up and both move away in opposite directions, which is odd, since last year they would take a look at each other and start head bobbing and circling (then I would separate them and they'd charge off after the ladies).
PrettyBoy has been mating with CoverGirl (our best looking female) so I've got my fingers crossed for that coupling. He's got 5 females with him total that are adults and ready to mate. Hopefully it will be an eventful year.
Nathan, I'm so happy to hear he is up and about. I don't know if you read about it on the ATP forum my house burned down on 3-31. I lost about half my turtles. If I still had Durk he would have parished because he had the pen in the basement right where the fire was. I'm happy to hear he is doing good even if his ummm, excitement level has lowered a little! Take care of my friend and thanks again. Dawn
I'm so sorry to hear about your house and turtles. That's a terrible thing and I hope you recover soon. I'll let dirk know he narrowly escaped a firey doom and should revel in his chances to be with the ladies while he has them.
