As of 5pm yesterday, I pulled out 17 eggs from a small tupperware box that I used for a nesting box (wow! the female really didn't look that big) I was pretty amazed that she had so many eggs. The last time I breed Ornate Uros, I think the most I had was 12 or 13 eggs per female (but that was like 5 years ago).
Well, I've got them in the good old chicken incubator (ouch, cost $50 bucks for the cheap-o styrofoam incubator...they must make a ton of money on that thing). So, it will be roughly (89-ish days) before the eggs hatch in August. Set to about 88.5F following the water to vermiculite ratio that I used for the ornate (which was the same that I used for B. Dragons). I'll know in a week or two if they are fertile (by the appearance of mold). But, these eggs seem ok, since I've notice that infertile eggs are not as firm as fertile one and the color is all pink-ish white for infertile one.
I'll keep you updated on how things are going. These uros I bought for my son and was only intending to buy one but I thought, heck why not buy a breeding pair and see what happens.
I'll post an update in week or so.
