I currently live near Huntington, WV. I am finishing up with school and might be offered a job in Naples, FL. Are there any Floridians that could give me a heads up on what to expect living in Florida? My fear is hurricanes and fire ants and crime. Huntington has a lot of crime so I don't think it will be any worse. It actually could be much better. Does the heat cause many problems in caring for snakes? Over here my house never gets over 86 F even without a/c and in the middle of summer. I see Florida is cooler than the hottest days here although the average temp is much warmer. Will temps be a problem? How about during winter brumation?

Thanks,
Dan

I don't think the crime should be that big of a factor. I think it's all about where you put yourself. If you're looking for trouble, you'll find it kinda thing. You might have to set your air at a higher temp so it will keep it at what your animals are used to. Other than that keep doing what youve been doing with the cages if it is working. I love Florida! Good Luck!
