outside cages.....

lilroach56 May 18, 2004 02:32 PM

I was wondering if their is any way to build an outdoor cage that a tegu (red or blue) could live in all year long. It would definately need a lot of heating and insulation but is it do able on a budget?

I live in Northern Va so.....
High temps in summer (hottest part)- 100
Low temps in summer (coldest part)- 50-60

High temps in winter (hottest part)- 50
Low temps in winter (coldest part)- 0-10

I would only leave mine out on mild to warm days .60-80 degrees once it gets over 80 my cage is to hot, at night I bring them in. In the winter the stay inside and I use a mercury vaper bulb. I live in the SF bay area . I would not leave them out all year round in Virgina.Russ

I would not keep them outside with temps below 60 unless it is for winter brumation and even so only with an additional heat source. I would not leave them out with temps below 40.

this is a simple cage construction that can be dismantled or rearanged as needed.
