Well i to be perfectly honest i probably shouldnt be posting until i totally assess the situation but i went in and checked on my mouse colony and saw a few small speckles of what appeared to be blood on some of the substrate. I didnt want to lift the hide that they were under incase one of my females was pregnant when i bought them and has laid pups. Figured it might cause to much stress an in turn cause them to eat the babies. But on the other hand im thinking my male may have killed one of the smaller females and that worries me because i've only had these guys for a week and a few days and i remember the male being aggressive towards one of the females during the first couple of days after i brought them home but it seemed to stop when i added a few more hides as well as 3 to 4 toilet tissue spools. After that i haven't checked on them besides changing water and feeding. I've noticed one of the females coming out of thge hide, grabbing bits of paper and tissue and running back in the hide so my question becomes is this normal everyday behavior or is she nesting? hmmmm Maybe i'd better check just to make sure... I'll repost afterwards.
