Zazanak May 18, 2004 06:00 PM

Im going to get one after I get my cage setup built for him/her. Im looking for one that more than likely will not break 4-4.5 foot. I would like your opinions. Thanks!

If you want small go with the Cuvier's dwarf caiman(Paleosuchus palpebrosus),the females are smaller then the males. You should ask if the caiman is indeed a Paleosuchus palpebrosus and not a Paleosuchus trigonatus. Some sellers will only advertise dwarf caiman and not the specific species.

Thanks for the info. I want small, but I realize small in crocadilians isn't really small lol. I was going to house it in a large galvanized farm troff with a few modifications but now I'm going to have a custom aluminum cage built for me. I'll draw it up on CAD and try to make it as caimen friendly as possible. I might even do a fenced in pond or something, i'll just have to see when the time comes. I want to get them well researched long before I make my purchase, this is a tad different world than the boids I keep. But thanks a ton!
