Mouse feeding question

Twest May 18, 2004 07:05 PM

One quick question.... Can mice eat their food through 1/4" mesh? I know that 1/2" mesh isn't good... I had hoppers hopping around the room once. Too bad for my bother they were at his house
Thanks in advanced...

Probably but they would eventually tear the mesh up. I used to work in an animal lab and the rats we used could eat their way through anything. I doubt mice are much different.

That is the size mesh i used on my mouse racks and they are 5 yrs old now and i have had no problems with it.I also tried using a larger size mesh but not quite 1/2 inch and it is amazing how small a hole a hopper can squeeze through to reach freedom, good thing mouse room is escape proof so they did not reach my living area lol.......
