Just got over. That show is lame. I think it depends on which animal was hunting in the first place. I've noticed that snakes will exhibit bites defensively I have never seen one constrict in defense. Just bite and try to get away. I wish Renee would weigh in on this.
One thing I've never seen was a jaguar preying on a caiman. A rather large one at that.
Good conda pics though. I'm glad the conda won this make believe battle though.
Renee, have you ever observed conda predation on jaguars?

yea that was pritty bad i never seen eny snake leave a fight it was winning or an animal try and continue to fight when it was looseing and had the chance to get away. they were some good pics of anacondas and i saw the first pics of a wild yellow anaconda and pics of anacondas in a forest setting.

Yeah the wild pics were the best part of the show.

the wild pics were the best part. what was with the computer animation. was 30 feet long? looked like a yellow. it was just bad and the lil jaguar started pulling a 30 foot anaconda out of the water!! im sorry but i dont care if there were 4 or 5 cats there not pulling a 30 foot anaconda out of the water. and 30 feet were they get that figure from i want to see that 30 footer they have to get that figure.

I think this is my first post here, so with that said, hello all.
I was surprised to see that they used such a large example of an Anaconda for this scenario, and even more surprised that they did in fact make the attack sequence rather realistic. What I mean by that is I was fully expecting them to have the Anaconda just slithering through an open field, and the Jaguar pounced on it which in my opinion wouldn't have been very realistic.
That said, anyone who has seen a large constrictor attack out of a food response and wrap up, they don't let go for anything! The wounds that large Capybaras inflict on Anacondas in the wild are very serious, but not once have I seen the anaconda release it's prey once it was constricted. The fight between the anaconda and the Jaguar would have been over after the first strike, and constriction; the anaconda would not have let go, and most certainely would not have re-attacked and re-constricted.
I mentioned prior to the show airing among a few friends that the anaconda would win if it initiated out of a food response, however I think if the Jaguar were the aggressor, and the anaconda was not looking to make a meal of the big cat, the Jaguar would kill it. A simple example of this is I can go pick up my 15 foot burm, and collapse it's throat without much resistance, and kill it. However, if this animal were stalking me, and sought to make a meal of me, it is fully capable of doing so. The difference here being intent.

Honestly..they were trying to show the jaguar is a more aggresive hunter so it wanted to still fight. the anaconda let go when the jaguar was biting its tail..and i bet it would...there are ways to get a snake off you if you really want and an adult jaguar is strong enough. they were playing on strghts and weakness and most logical way they would encounter while BOTH hunting. Renee, we can't focus on conservation...nobody would watch when there are reality shows about winning babies and the news has peoples heads getting cut off. I especially likes how the metal anacondas bottm bones came apart while it was biting...never noticed they did that...I was under the impression thats what happens AFTER they kill and start to eat. If the two largest jaguars and anacondas did fight...it would depend on who is hunting who and who gets the first shot in. If it was the way it was in the show...the anaconda would likely win...if its first strike didn't miss....what it the point of reconstructing the skulls in metal anyway?
