Gecko not eating...PLEASE HELP..very worried

terrible_one May 18, 2004 08:29 PM

ok guys i only had my new leo for 6 days and he has been eating well (he even ate on the first day) but tonight I went to feed him and he is not eating. I will try to give you some background and hopefully someone can help and this isn't anything major.

First of all I know he may be very scared and stressed right now..I try to handle him and he hates it and bites me and squirms like crazy out of my hands..I no he will calm down but...

I am feeding him mealworms with calcuim dusted on them. He also has a dish full of mealies but i usually just drop some in front of his head at night he chows them up. They are not gutloaded yet and i should be strating to gutload within a few days.

His mouth/nose part is a little wet..i assume its beacuase he was taking a drink but I no this could mean something so i thought ud tell u. His poops are normal I think they have some white in them are not runny or anything.

the temps are 78 on cool side and around 85-90 on wamr side. He has a UTH and a night bulb.

please some one help me I really wnated to have a nice healthy gecko and i just got him so hopefully this isn;t anything bad....If you want to contact me on AIM my sn Jkidd2kmart056 or just reply here...thanx!!

One day of not eating isn't anything you should be worrying about. LEt it go for tonight. If he still refuses food after a couple more days, post again and I will have a few suggestions for you.
