Skin Change

geckogecko May 19, 2004 12:23 AM

I've found the skin of my UF turn white which seems to have a satin clothed on her. Is this a sign that she is going to have her skin change?
How often should she change her skin, and, if there are any action that I should do to help?

happen everytime your gecko grows, and (outgrows old skin) it is pretty neat looking.

Here is an older pic I took this winter of my Sindar, female henkeli, and called it the Gecko burglar ! LOL

Nice shedding pic.
How long will it take to shed since she turn white yesterday? And will it shed only at night which I dont have chance to see the shedding process?

i find that mine change colors when the humidity drops. they turn a real pale color instead of the darker color they usually are. but answering your question of how long it takes them to shed--- mine shed overnight, because i can see them starting to peel at night and in the morning theres no sign of the old skin

I sometimes see her being like this too. But this time the skin got significant white sheet on it, which really looks like shedding anyway. I didnt witness the shedding process perhaps she shedded last night as I saw her turning back to it actual color as usual. Thanks.

ahhahaha ! Great that your getting a camera, you will not be able to stop taking pics.

You think trying to stop buying lizards is bad, once you have camera in hand, learn to use it, ya see a new cool shot everytime you see your reptiles, hehehehe

I take so many shots each day, people see me coming and run,

I have to get more of my henkeli pair though.

Sometimes its tough at night, and hate to wake them during the day!
