Got my new leos!!!! Got some Info and some questions!

fadetolemons May 19, 2004 09:41 AM

Well they came in about half an hour ago! One little purplish pink blizzard baby and one little albino baby. They're soooo pretty/cute. And man, when they said babies, they weren't kidding, these guys are right out of the egg, so I'm a little worried. The mealworms I have for them might be a little big. They look like they could work though, i'll just have to wait and see. Is it normal for them to not be eating right away? It's weird they've been out exploring since they got here, haven't been in their hides at all, which i thought was weird, especially since one is an albino and it's daytime. they're loving it. Whats the best way to go about feeding them, where can i get smaller mealworms without ordering 1000 of them from grubco.com?

When I got my new leos this past Friday my Albino Giant was exploring and did most of the day. He did eat right away for me though, although the little girl didn't she ran and hid from us and didn't eat for about 3 days. I was a little suprised with the size of my female as she wasn't as big as we were told she would be, but the male was. She is sooooo cute though. The male is so friendly. He doesn't try to get away when we hold him. He's between 4 and 6 inches. I do think you can order less than a 1000 from grubco. Have you ever ordered from them before? We order a couple weeks ago and we made the mistake of ordering small...when they say small they mean small...I just recieved an order today and we ordered large this time, but I haven't opened the box yet. I think I'll let my husband do that...lol...Hope all works out for you. Take care.

yeah i ordered from them about a week ago, and yeah i thought the least you coudl order was either a) 1000 or b) 12 cups of 50... wait.. that would be 600, so yeah there ya go lol, i'll do that. Yeah these guys are REALLY friendly, they are like babies, and they don't mind being held or petted

generally around here all they have are "medium" and "large", which are all too big for these babies

Try 1/4" - 1/2" crickets, most pet stores have them.
