A Very Exciting Morning...!!

wetceal May 19, 2004 12:23 PM

Well, it finally happened! We walked into the shop today to find a litter of fresh baby Boas!! This is the first litter of Colombian Boas we have produced so we are VERY excited! I walked in and grabbed my camera just in time to see (and take photos of) the last baby being born.

This particular female is a first time breeder. She's fairly small at around 5 feet long but had a BIG litter of babies for her size. We bred her to our Staub line male Hypo and couldn't be happier with the results! The final count is 19 babies all together. I believe 11 of them are hypos and 8 are normals. I'll definitely be sharing more photos of these little ones in the near future!!

Thanks for looking!

Celia

That is great!! congrats! Any way you can post a pic of the father when you post more baby pics? (hint hint!)

I just snapped these photos when I realized I didn't have any updated photos of this guy! We are expecting a few more litters, two of which were also sired by him. He was a fantastic little breeder for us this season! He's only about 3 to 3 1/2 feet long but sure did get the job done!

Thanks!
Celia

We are still so excited about these little ones! I keep looking at them and am now trying my best self-restraint to give them some time and let them be LOL! I don't know how you guys do it with the Albinos and Ghosts and Sunglows and Arabesques and Jungles and Motleys that have been produced...I think I would have my face stuck to the front of their cages for quite a while LOL!! I know this has been said MANY times already...but what a great year for Boas!!!!!!!!

THANKS!

Congrats. You got to love it too when you beat the odds. 50% plus 2 extras hypos to boot. Just makes it all the better.

I was actually mistaken. We seperated the babies and I recounted them at the time and it turns out that there are actually 12 Hypos and 7 normals so we beat the odds by about three extra hypos!
