Pastel ??? Opinions wanted

craig k. May 19, 2004 01:26 PM

Here is a pic of my pastel male with an 02 ch. baby that caught my eye. I think she may be a pastel, but I am as tired as anyone of seeing "morphs" coming up for sale. I would really appreciate any opinions. I know only breeding her out will prove it, just want some opinions. She is the brighter one on the right. Thanks. Craig Kade

She is worth more breeding her then selling her at this point.

She is a good looking animal.........congrats on the find.

Someone offered me a pretty good chunk of money for her, but she is over 1000 grms, so I think I am going to wait and breed her next year. Thanks again for your opinion. Craig

If they are not, they could pass for lesser quality Pastels especially if you had a better picture.

craig k. May 20, 2004 09:14 AM

Sorry about the picture quality, I just snapped a quickie to see what people thought. They do look much better in real life. Thanks for the input.

The eyes are yellowish on top dark on bottom.

looks normal to me I'd sell her.

craig k. May 20, 2004 09:16 AM

Thanks for the opinion, I think I will keep her anyway. Worse case scenario she is an above average adult female. Best case, she will produce a super pastel next year.

craig k. May 20, 2004 10:41 AM

Sorry, that female is an 03 not 02. I know it does not matter, but I wanted to clarify. The male was bought as a "b grade" pastel from a well known breeder. Thanks again for all the input. Anyone that thinks she is just a normal feel free to post, I paid 7 bucks for her so I won't be offended. Thanks. Craig Kade

7.00 for a ball python, man we need US prices here in Canada!! The lowest I've seen a BP sell for at any show is $80.00 CAN. of course wich is about 55-60 US and WC the only place you find them here is in pet stores where they want 250.00 a piece anyway. To order them from the states we need a minimum of 1000.00 plus the CITES paperwork and the shipping, then you only pay $12/each or so but I don't need 83 hatchlings. But with seeing all the cool CH coming in it is sooooo not fair.
