EAST DUNDEE - A Lake in the Hills teenager is charged with stealing eight Tegu lizards and a boa snake from his employer's house.
Jonathon J. Kobeszko, 18, 214 Wander Way, is free on bond after posting $3,000 cash. He faces a Class 1 felony charge of residential burglary as well as criminal trespass to a residence and criminal trespass to real property, both misdemeanors.
The lizards and snake, valued at $5,400, still are missing. Two of the lizards are reportedly pregnant with as many as 16 eggs, valued at $300 each, between them.
Police said Kobeszko broke into the East Dundee home between 9:30 a.m. and 11 p.m. Sunday.
The teen had helped move the reptiles from a Crystal Lake store to the East Dundee house.
**Funny, I don't know of any pet store in Crystal Lake that sells anything worth a hoot as far as reptiles go....**
