Ok I was outside mowing the lawn, watering plants for my parents and I had seen out of the corner of my eye a dove. ( I love doves) So I was like OH kewl! So I went on with my job I was doing.... Got to the last pot 'it is up in the air' and I had for some reason dicided i was going to look up there, AND guess what I saw ? The dove she has layed eggs up there because she wouldnt even budge.. I was within inches of her and she just cowered down and didnt move at all it was so kewl! I still every few minitues look outside to make sher she is still there, If i see her not there i am going to try to take a picture of her eggs ... I thought I would share this story... Sorry if you didnt like it.

I think it is cool or kewl ,lol. Yea don't bother her too much and she will stay right there. She thinks that you cannot see her. We have them at work all over in the scaffolding and catwalks around the quarry. I keep an eye on several each day when greasing the plant. She may have 2 to 3 clutches in the same nest this summer. When the babies are born if you watch she will regurgitate dove milk to them it is actually a milky substance they produce from digested seeds. Keep an eye on the ol'girl

if people would understand how the agricultural community has helped the population of the mourning dove skyrocket to unreal proportions. Without hunting the dove would more than likely die of to a near record low due to diesease. Doves are very prolific having clutches year round in warm areas. Sorry to rant they are quite tasty to when brested and rolled in cracker crumbs.
