I got a vet appointment

for tomorrow morning it was the best i could do , if i use a dropper to put peidialyte(sp?) in her mouth how can i tell if she's swallowing?

Some things to watch out for:
Be sure the liquid goes far back into the mouth or into the throat. The opening into the lungs is right below the tongue, and you obviously don't want pedialyte in there!

Also be careful if you're using a plastic dropper. They can bite it right off and swallow it if they clamp down with those burly jaws.

After putting stuff in their mouths, they usually make little chewing/smacking/swallowing movements, so it's pretty easy to see if they've swallowed. If you put the dropper down the throat, you don't have to worry about it. If you have a feeding needle, you can put it directly into the stomach, though I'm too chicken to go that far.

i was usesing a plasitc dropper its was i big thick one though to big to acually put in her mouth. i've got 2 needle-less syringes from the vet this morning
