Hello,
I am looking for opinions on "Mazuri" F/W Turtle diet. Thanks!
Adam
Although it is nutrionally correct, I don't use it because the last time I tried it a few years ago, it was sinking rather than a floating pellet and, as such, was less likely to get eaten and fouled the water.
It's supposedly the best. Used by zoo's and such. Plus it's cheap, like 5 bucks a pound, which is way cheaper than buying those little containers in the pet store. I use variety anyway though. Mazuri, some reptomin, repto treat, Zoo-Med, Jurrasi-Diet, etc.
I have used Mazuri as a staple for a couple of years now and I think it is a great feed. It is cheap especially when bought in large bulk quantities (I get mine at a feed store). I have had really good breeding results (large amounts of eggs that dveloped into healthy hatchlings). And the overall health of my turtles has been great. I know it was mentioned that it sinks but I have not seen that happen ever. Turtle Brittle by Nasco however does sink and I wonder if that is what was mentioned. I find that Mazuri pellets are most similar to the Zoomed Aquatic turtle pellets as far as shape and color.
In summary, I would definately recommend Mazuri Aquatic turtle diet.
Thanks,
Jason

You are correct and my memory was faulty. Mazuri floats, NASCO Turtle Brittle sinks.
