My observation has a lot to do with a post Terry started awhile back about breeding after first shed or second. There wasn’t anything said about are natural light cycle and what roll it might play in Honduran Breeding.
The reason I bring this up is because I brought 10 females out of brumation on 3/15. One turned out to be male, 2 bred after there second shed and the other 7 seem to have been putting off there second shed. Terry mentioned he thought some of his seem to be putting there second shed off also. They all have bred numerous times and seem to be very gravid. Will see what happens.
I know a local breeder here that has many more than 10 females that were brought out of brumation some time in January. He was telling me that most of his didn’t breed until after there 3rd shed. That leads me to believe there’s more to light cycle then I thought. What do you guys think??
Most of his and my breeding took place through the month of April and the beginning of May, with him being about two weeks ahead of me. My Friend Duane Goss has been breeding for many years and said his first breeding usually always come in April no matter what he dose. I personally have little experience Breeding and was hoping to see what some others thought about this.
